On January 20, 2017, our Associate Director, Dr. Maria Santana gave a presentation on Person-Centred Care.
The overall goal of this presentation was to describe person-centred care, and how we can measure it, in order to improve its practice. The presentation provided an overview of a research program on measuring, person-centred care, including evidence-based results of a scoping review of the literature and results of an environmental scan describing how person-centred care is measured in Canada. Furthermore, the presentation included results from a representative sample of Albertans – patient views on ‘what matters’ to them with respect to their care. Finally, the presentation discussed the importance and implications of person-centred care to health and healthcare.
