Elizabeth Gibbons is a Senior Research Scientist in the HSRU, Nuffield Department of Population Health and CLAHRC-Oxford. Previously holding research posts at the Royal College of Nursing Institute as a Systematic Review Fellow and Research and Development Fellow developing NICE Clinical Guidelines, she joined the Patient Reported Outcome Measurement Group, Nuffield Department of Population Health at Oxford in 2005.

Previously holding research posts at the Royal College of Nursing Institute as a Systematic Review Fellow and Research and Development Fellow developing NICE Clinical Guidelines, she joined the Patient Reported Outcome Measurement Group, Nuffield Department of Population Health at Oxford in 2005.

Recent research activity in collaboration with Picker Institute Europe was to test and evaluate new models of measuring patient experience across pathways and within services in the NHS. Other collaborative work with Picker Institute includes developing a set of measures which can be inserted into existing national collections to measure components of integrated care.

Elizabeth’s main research interests include: the development and evaluation of PROMs and Patient reported Experience Measures (PREMs); evaluation of the impact of implementation of PROMs and PREMs in the NHS and systematic reviews of PROMs for different populations. She is an active member of the International Society of Quality of Life Research and Vice Chair of HRA Ethics committee.

Elizabeth has a nursing background- Registered General Nurse and Registered Sick Children’s Nurse and spent most of her nursing career in Paediatric Intensive Care.
